Edward Engler (President)
Ed is the founder and Chairman of Summa Technologies, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based software consulting firm. He is also a General Partner with Pittsburgh Equity Partners. Ed brings his deep experience within the local business community to Bike Pittsburgh. He is a founding board member and has been here since 2002. Ed can be reached via email at ed@bike-pgh.org
Courtney Ehrlichman (Secretary)
Courtney is an avid cyclist currently researching the feasibility of an artists’ incubation center for Western Pennsylvania through Carnegie Mellon University. When she’s not commuting to work on her bike, she’s hooking up the bike trailer and rolling around with her daughter, Tallulah, in the East End. Courtney likes all things community. Amy Enrico (Treasurer)
Amy is a local business owner in Highland Park (Tazza D’Oro) and an avid bicyclist. In addition, Amy is very involved with East End business development and several of the local Community Development Corporations. She has been with the board since the Fall of 2006. Lena Andrews
Lena is a native Pittsburgher who feels that her city cannot thrive if it is not enjoyable and safe to get around without a car. A believer that change begins locally, she has spent much of her career in city government and is currently a Planning and Development Specialist for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh. Lena has a BA from Dartmouth College in economics and an MS in public policy from Carnegie Mellon. She is an aspiring cyclist who spends a lot of time outside in Pittsburgh, running, walking, urban hiking in obscure neighborhoods, or waiting for the bus. Phillip Bender

Phil, an environmental lawyer with K&L Gates LLP Downtown, grew up on BMX bikes in the wilds of the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated to a 1953 Columbia tandem during college in Portland, Oregon, jumped on and fell off a lot of mountain bikes around the Pacific Northwest through his 20s, commuted to work on a variety of random homemade hybrids after law school, and now looks forward to learning this amazing city he married into (his wife is from Moon) over the handlebars of his roadbike. Phil is also currently serving as Chair of POP UP PITTSBURGH!, a project of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc. that highlights the assets and opportunities of underutilized Pittsburgh neighborhoods through exciting events hosted with local neighborhood boosters.
Richard Butler
Richard Butler -Inclusion Manager USA Rowing Association
Having grown up in the very urban community of Homewood in Pittsburgh Richard has personally experienced how important bicycling as a means of transportation is to Pittsburgh’s urban dwellers. Richard is an avid recreational and commuting cyclist.
As the Inclusion Manager for U S Rowing, Richard is dedicated to making rowing affordable, accessible and diverse. Richard is familiar and associated with a number of environmental non-profit organizations, and also serves on the boards of the Frick Environmental Charter School, Pennsylvania Alliance for Environmental Education (Advisory), Pennsylvania Center for Environmental Education and partners with RiverQuest, The Student Conversation Association, Friends of the Riverfront, and Venture Outdoors. Mary Franzen
Mary Franzen is an independent communications consultant who sees great things ahead for her adopted city. In her professional life, she works with businesses, universities and non-profit organizations to get the word out to the right people. She strives to do the same for Bike Pittsburgh, helping to promote all the advantages of getting around on two wheels. She has been with the board since the Fall of 2008. She rides (stoker) most often with her husband and son.
Mac Howison
Mac Howison, ex-officio
Mac is the Funding Programs Manager for The Sprout Fund, one of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s leading agencies on issues related to civic engagement, talent attraction and retention, public art, and catalytic small-scale funding. He is currently serving on Bike Pittsburgh’s board ex-officio to help support capacity-building, sustainability, and the Bike Friendly Employer’s Certification Program.
Mac holds a BFA in Painting from Carnegie Mellon University, and is a Camp Dudley, YMCA alumnus. A musician and amateur bike mechanic, Mac spends most of his time with his family around their 1901 Frederick Schiebler home in Swissvale. His wife Jennifer is an avid cyclist and their children Mev and Mason often join them on two wheels. He has been with the board since the Spring of 2008, ex-officio since January 2009. Brad Quartuccio
Brad is a third generation Pittsburgher who hasn’t stopped riding bikes since childhood. He started racing mt. bikes at the age of 14 and has competed in various cycling disciplines since. He worked for Dirt Rag Magazine from 1997 to 2007, moving his way up to a combined position of Subscription Circulation Management, Product Tester and Staff Photographer. He is currently the editor of Urban Velo Magazine. Brad holds a degree in mechanical engineering from University of Pittsburgh. Brad has helped organize BikeFest for the past few years, has worked on the Ghost Bike Pittsburgh project, Critical Mass and community/event planning.
