You should give them bike rack request cards, or point them in the direction of the web form to request a bike rack. I made a thread about this:

And here is the post about the City's bike rack program, which will explain more about how to turn your list into a reality.. with the exception of the post offices, since the program is only for small businesses/organizations.

Writing a letter to the appropriate person might work for the post offices.

Post offices are definitely in need of racks. Thanks for calling this to the city's attention. it's ridiculous that not a single PO has one.

i e-mailed 311 about the ones at the post office and got a response that they put in a work order for both Bloomfield and Oakland.

Nice! I hope that's for serious! I hate locking up to the newspaper box at the Oakland one.

yeah i usually just take my bike inside and lock it to the railing, but i feel bad then its rainy or snowy and track muck inside.

The California Ave P.O. could use one, too. I had to go there when I was going through the employee intake process (I was a Christmas casual). There are several spots you can lock a bike to, none of them good (tree, etc.). Lots of space there. Probably they could use one in the under-the-building garage, too.

Hey, I'm toppin' this because I have a question in reference to the famed and wonderful bike rack request program of late 2009 and ongoing.

Does anyone know what's going on with racks in the Strip? I heard that Neighbor's in the Strip was going to coordinate rack placements - is that true? I was wondering what was taking so long - the weather putting things on hold, or is something else up?

The Midwife Center asked for one and I think my bike would look really hot parked out while I'm working. :-)

I thought Dozen in Laurenceville was getting one too but they do't have one yet.
