Mon Wharf trail
Check out this article in the Post Gazette today:
"A $2.3 million project set to begin in September will transform part of the Monongahela Wharf into a waterfront oasis for hiking and biking, but will cost some commuters their parking spots..."

i just read this, and i wanted to point it out since i talked to a couple folks about it downtown yesterday...
so technically, by may, we should be able to bike to the point from the jail trail?

You can do it now, see: bikely route
Just drop down into the Mon Wharf parking lot and turn right. Works at least on odd weekend hours when there are no attendants about. I don't know whether anyone would stop you at other times.

A nice bike trail connecting Point Park to the Jail Trail would be awesome.
