Just bought my bike
Hello. I just bought my bike this past Saturday, picked it up Sunday. It's the first bike I have owned in... 20+ years. I rented a bike twice last year and thought that I would give it a shot for exercise and entertainment. With the weather I have not actually done any riding yet, but the time will come.
However, I realized two things when I got home. First, no kickstand. Apparently they are not cool anymore, lol. Second, no lock. I got a patch kit, a pump, etc... but forgot a lock/chain. Oh well.
I will most likely be hitting the South Side trail and crossing over Hot Metal to that side as well. Maybe I will see you there.

No matter what you paid for you bike, I would advise a U-Lock. I have a bike with basically $0 cash value, so I figured I could get away with a cable lock. After a few months here, someone cut the lock and took it. I recovered it about a week later when someone on this board said they had seen it stashed in some bushes a block from where it was taken.
On a related note, someone on this board (timz86) said he had 3 extra U-Locks that he would sell for cheap. I was lazy about responding, but I still want one. Where can I meet you to pick it up?
