RE: Bike Polo Pittsburgh
Last night was great! New faces, everyone seemed to have fun. Please, let us know if there is anything we can do to make it easier or more welcoming for the beginners, I know it can look intimidating.
Saturday. Weather isn't looking good, but if it isn't raining I'm game for a couple hours. 4pm, rink under the Bloomfield Bridge, Bloomfield side.
Otherwise, next one is Thursday May 22nd. 6pm, play until dark.

RE: Bike Polo Pittsburgh
Hey folks. Sounds like you're picking up some new faces, I hope everyone's having a ball. I have some vague proposals for Bike Fest. I'm thinking of posting a "Familiarize yourself with Bike Polo: come thursday july 3rd to watch/learn/play/practice..." and then having the tourney on the 5th, saturday.
Thursday could be 6 - dark. Is there a time on saturday that would work better for anyone than 3:30?
And then game format... I'll see what I can gather from other cities about that. Ok folks. see you in a week or so

RE: Bike Polo Pittsburgh
Bikefest Tournament info... all still under progress, but here's what I have so far.
Saturday July 5th starting at noon.
Double elimination tourney/potluck.
$10 per team $5/individual-to be placed on a team------ The money would go toward improving the court(concrete for the dip. evening out the plant area. a strip of material as base board) or toward grub for picnicing.
I'll bring a grill and a cooler on a trailer.
Maybe a little mallet workshop?
Any thoughts?

RE: Bike Polo Pittsburgh
Just want to extend a big "Thanks Every Body!" to everyone who contributed to making our first ever Bike Polo Pittsburgh open tournament a fun and successful day. Special thanks to all the ballers, the two cleveland teams that gave us a perfect 8 team bracket and some fresh competition, Scott of Bike Pittsburgh who suggested the event, spectators who came and cheered on the awesome teams, people who donated food and drinks to the potluck, my old lady, brittany and scott bruce's allison who ran the food table, and so on...
Team Zephyr (Lindsay, Ian, and Kevin) played a grueling and intense four games in a row bumping all-stars Murda Tric3 (TimZ, BradQ, and Chris) into the third place spot and ending the Iron City Cold Rollers' (Scott Bruce, Greg Russo, and myself) winning streak. They took the final game to 4-4 before the well rested Rollers sunk the final goal.
Congrats to all who played. We're all winners 'cause we all had fun.

RE: Bike Polo Pittsburgh
Just a reminder, polo is going strong. Thursdays at 6pm for the remainder of the summer, Saturdays at 4pm. Under the Italian side of the Bloomfield Bridge. There are usually some "refreshments" around and people typically end up fetching food/brews as night falls somewhere in the vicinity.
We will likely switch locations and times as fall and winter approach, but lets not think too much about that now...
