Creamcycle II

so i'm putting on the creamcycle again this year. hopefully it is going to be bigger and better than last year. the creamcycle is an ice cream themed alleycat-style race, with the purpose of raising awareness of prevention of testicular cancer amongst people aged 18-35. the race will be on july 4th with the start in friendship park. registration will begin at 2pm and the race 3ish. $5 to race and an ice cream "buffet" will follow at the finish.
if you have any questions or if you would like to volunteer to work a checkpoint, email me @ pinkclouds@fastmail.fm
thanks

RE: Creamcycle II

hell yes it will be!
i also wanted to add some answers to questions i have recieved via email.
This is aimed to be a fast-ish pace race. it is competitive. there is money and sweet prizes to pimp out your bike on the line. the pace is not conducive to kid-friendly riding, however kids are more than welcome to come and enjoy the ice cream social at the finish in friendship park.
you can ride any bike you want but if i were riding it myself, i'd definitely ride a road bike. thanks and if you have any more questions, feel free to email.

RE: Creamcycle II

This race was awesome last year. Longer than expected, definitely a road-bike type of an event. I seem to remember it taking me an 1:15 or so to do my checkpoints and chow down on ice cream. I finished 6th. Some people were out there for seemingly ever...

My goal this year is to put a framepump in Lomax's spokes so that I don't lose out first fixed yet again.

my goal is to finish...last year my group had a little communal crash and I taco'd my rear wheel...had to call in the extraction team.

mmmm I want a double helping of ice cream this year.

RE: Creamcycle II

so basically you're saying that a tandem is not a good choice of bike.

that just means there needs to be a tandem category!

whoa i think i just convinced myself to organize a tandem only alleycat.

The ride was pretty fun and there was a good turn out (around 75 people?). Unfortunately, a quick shower cane through near the end and my shoes were soaked.

i'm a good friend of the fella who won the pump. he mentioned getting to the checkpoints and no one being there, and then finishing and not seeing the person with his pump. i would say expect an email from him within the next day or so.
