Transporting a wheel via bike?

Hey all,

Has there been a discussion about how to transport a wheel via bike? I would like to get one out to Free Ride, to remove the cassette, but don't want to drive it out there.

I have a courier bag, but it does not have specific wheel-carrying straps. Perhaps, someone knows of a good tie down system or some other method?

Thanks

Old tubes have many uses. This is one of them. Thread it through the spokes twice and each arm through an end. Not too tight -- that axle can dig into your back. But the courier bag would provide padding.

if you have a messenger bag almost all of them have fastening straps to keep the back flap down. you just thread those straps through a spoke or two and then snap them, i do it all the time.

tubes work too! i never would have thought of that though.

Great advice! Tubes + straps seems the most secure route. Thanks.

PS - Mark, I work with Nate T. and he and I were trying to figure out if you are the same person he knew through a female friend. Sorry that is so ambiguous. If you need clarification (or care), just e-mail me.

I am required to comment, but I'm not sure why I keep posting twice.

misterhare,

If you refresh your browser immediately after posting, I think you get a double post.
