Decent Commuting Tires...
I have a Mongoose Zero-G that I bought a few years ago and is my primary bike. Since I moved, I primarily use it on the trails around Pittsburgh and for commuting. This being a mountain bike, it came with mountain bike tires. I was looking around and saw these and was wondering if the extra traction on the sides mattered much or if a smooth tire without these extra nubs would be the way to go. Most of the time I'm on pavement, but sometimes the crushed limestone or going over ~2" in diameter rocks taking the shortcut near Station Square near the railroad crossing. I'm not looking for anything fancy, cheaper the better. :)
Any suggestions?

RE: Decent Commuting Tires...
I just switched from nubby trail tires to smooth road tires for my mtn bike. I got these: specialized borough cx 26 1.50 tires, I was assured they were great tires. However, on my maiden voyage I got a flat, small piece of glass. I was just talking to a couple that do some serious road biking they recommended the Specialized Armadillo. If I get another flat fairly soon I think I'm gonna try these out.
